Youth Symphony

Youth Symphony was founded in 1965 by Dr. Wachtang "Botso" Korisheli and staffed by conductors and coaches. The SLO Symphony Youth Symphony provides an excellent environment for young musicians to develop their skills as ensemble players and musicians through symphonic and orchestral training. Youth Symphony is comprised of five ensembles: Concert Orchestra, Academy String Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Preparatory Strings, and Super Bows!.

The Youth Symphony is part of the extensive Music Education programs of the San Luis Obispo Symphony and is the only opportunity between Santa Barbara and Monterey for school-age musicians to receive full orchestral training.
